It's been several years since the battle of Groudon and Kyogre wrought havoc on the Hoenn region. Humanity's understanding of Pokémon has deepened as more discoveries are made about the origins of Pokémon. A recent surge of discoveries in the nearby Issho region has drawn researchers from all over the world, including May, now an assistant Pokémon professor. After receiving a Pokémon from her, the player sets out to investigate the reports coming from all over the Issho region of new species of Pokémon, new types of Pokémon, and even more strange phenomena. Meanwhile, a new threat is on the rise in Issho, a mysterious crime syndicate who use exceptionally powerful Pokémon.

➡️Original Story, Characters & Region: Explore the brand new Issho region, meet a cast of original characters (including updated sprites for Vert), and experience a completely new story that serves as a loose sequel to Pokémon Emerald, featuring the return of many old characters.

➡️New "Echo" Type: A brand new Pokémon type, Echo, has been added to the game, designed as a counter for the Fairy and Ghost types.

➡️Expanded & Custom Pokédex: The game features a curated regional Pokédex of 386 Pokémon. This includes new regional forms for Pokémon from Generations 5-8, a small number of Fakemon (including some from the original SpaceWorld demo), and canon Pokémon updated to Gen 8 standards. The Pokédex also includes pages for Isshoan forms.

➡️No Mega Evolution, New Natural Evolutions: Mega Evolution has been removed from the game. In its place, some Pokémon that previously had Mega Evolutions now have them as new, permanent natural evolutions.

➡️New Battle Mechanics: The battle system has been significantly updated with 4 new status conditions, 2 new weather types, over 60 new moves, over 20 new abilities, and buffs to many older Pokémon, moves, and abilities.

➡️Hidden Karma System: A new "Karma" feature has been added, which is a hidden stat that keeps track of a player's good deeds (e.g., raising friendship, completing quests, planting berries). Your Karma can be checked by an NPC in Haewen Town.

➡️Three Selectable Difficulty Modes: You can choose your challenge level at the start of the game: Normal (a standard experience), Hardcore (set mode, no bag use in battle, less money), and Insane (same as Hardcore, but with even less money and a fee to use Pokémon Centers).

➡️Strict Level Caps: The game uses a hard level cap system tied to the number of badges you own. Pokémon at the cap will not gain any more experience from any source until you earn the next badge.

➡️New Custom TMs & Tutors: The game features a completely custom set of over 100 TMs and HMs, plus a large number of additional moves available from Move Tutors.

➡️Return of Classic Features: Enjoy the return of beloved features like the day/night cycle, headbutt trees for special encounters, and daily events. The Game Corner has also been added to Turquoise City.

➡️Unique UI & Quality of Life: The game features various changes to the UI to create a unique experience, along with QoL improvements like faster text speed, prompts to reuse Repels, an increased bag size, and menu looping.

➡️Wonder Trading: Wonder Trading has been added and is available on the 2nd floor of Pokémon Centers.

➡️Expanded Map: The region map has been updated to include Ever Grande City.
