PROGRESS: Project Version 1.0 (Completed) - 15/12/2025 - This is a complete game. The main story and the Kanto post-game, including the battle with Professor Oak, are all finished and playable from start to finish.

It is a FireRed ROM hack that modernizes the classic Kanto journey with a host of new features, challenging battles, and crucial quality-of-life improvements. Built on the advanced pokefirered-expansion base, this hack is designed for players who love the original adventure but want a tougher, more strategic experience. All major boss battles—from Gym Leaders to the Elite Four—have been enhanced with competitive teams that use held items, perfect IVs, optimized EVs, and smart Natures, just like a real player would. The game includes the Physical/Special Split, the Fairy Type, and an expanded Pokédex that includes all evolutions of Kanto Pokémon from later generations. With a modern Exp. Share, a Portable PC, and tons of other QoL features, this is the definitive way to experience a truly challenging Kanto.

🛑Features:

➡️Enhanced "Competitive" Boss Battles: The game's core feature. All major boss trainers (Gym Leaders, Rival, Giovanni, E4) have been redesigned to use the same resources as a competitive player, including held items, perfect IVs, optimized EVs, and smart Natures. All Gym Battles are now 3v3 Single Battles.

➡️Modern Battle Mechanics: The game has been fully updated with modern battle mechanics, including the Physical/Special Split and the Fairy Type.

➡️Expanded Kanto Pokédex: The Kanto Pokédex has been expanded to include all evolutions and pre-evolutions of the original 151 Pokémon. This includes later-gen evolutions like Sirfetch'd, Perrserker, Mr. Rime, Magnezone, Annihilape, and Kleavor. All Pokémon in the Kanto Pokédex are obtainable, including Mew.

➡️Moves, Items & Abilities up to Gen 9: The game includes an expanded list of items up to Generation 9 (including Nature Mints), and all movesets, abilities, and move effects have been updated to match their latest-generation versions.

➡️New & Expanded TMs: The TM list has been massively expanded to over 120 TMs, with a focus on providing better physical/special coverage and adding more Fairy, Dark, and Steel-type moves.

➡️Buffed HM Moves: The HM moves Cut, Strength, Flash, and Rock Smash have all been significantly buffed to make them viable and useful in combat.

➡️Modern Exp. Share: The game uses the modern, party-wide Exp. Share from later generations, which can be toggled on and off from the bag.

➡️No More Trade Evolutions: All evolution methods that required trading have been replaced with new, accessible in-game methods, such as using an evolution stone or leveling up while holding a specific item.

➡️Toggleable Run & Level Cap: You can toggle Run on and off by pressing 'B' (available from the start), and you can also toggle an optional Level Cap on or off at any time.

➡️Portable PC & Infinite Repel: The game includes a "Pokémon Box Link" for portable PC access from anywhere, and a new "Infinite Repel" key item that can be turned on and off.

➡️Reusable TMs & Forgettable HMs: All TMs have infinite uses, and all HMs can be freely forgotten without the need for a Move Deleter.

➡️Hyper Training & EV Reset: An NPC is available on Route 22 for Hyper Training (maxing a Pokémon's IVs with Bottle Caps), and another is in Lavender Town for completely resetting a Pokémon's EVs.

➡️Secret Superboss Battle: You can find and battle against Professor Oak for the ultimate challenge.

➡️Restored Kanto Events: The Aurora Ticket and Mystic Ticket events are now obtainable in-game.

➡️No Items in Trainer Battles: Access to your bag is disabled during all trainer battles, preventing the use of healing items. Held items are still restored after battle (except for consumed berries).

➡️Permanent Environmental Changes: Trees that are cut down and rocks that are smashed are removed permanently from the map.

➡️Visual & UI Improvements: Includes full decapitalization, an instant text speed option, a day/night and seasonal cycle (visual only), improved map layouts, and a summary screen that directly displays a Pokémon's exact IVs & EVs.
