In addition to its original region and storyline, Pokémon Voyager also has quite a few custom battle mechanics, battle types, and Battle Frontier facilities. This is a large undertaking for a small development team. In order to release incremental changes to our battle engine separately from the storyline, the Pokémon Voyager team has created a separate Frontier Demo patch for players to exercise the battle engine and provide incremental feedback on its quality and mechanics without waiting for the storyline to stabilize.

➡️Triple Battles – 3v3 battle format fully supported.
➡️New Mega Infusion System – Custom mechanic similar to Mega Evolution.

➡️Royale Battles – 1v1v1v1 free-for-all battles with King of the Hill and KO modes.
➡️3v1 Battles – One trainer faces three others with a 50% defense boost.
➡️SoS Battles – Wild Pokémon call for allies, who get stronger every second call.
➡️18v18 Battles – Large-scale partner triple battles.
➡️12v12 Battles – Large-scale partner double battles.
➡️Custom Battle Frontier Facilities – Brand-new facilities unique to Pokémon Voyager.
➡️Classic Frontier Facilities – Battle Tower, Battle Pyramid, Battle Factory, Battle Dome, Battle Pike, Battle Arena, Battle Palace.
➡️Battle Royale Facility – Custom Royale battle formats.
➡️Battle Arcade – Random effects via roulette at the start of each trainer battle.
➡️Battle Satellite – Microgravity battles with Ground immunity and end-of-turn Speed drops.
➡️Battle Barn – SoS chaining battle facility with scaling stat boosts.
➡️Battle Library – Use any moves or abilities, but each can only be used once per run.
➡️Battle Rink – Ice puzzle gauntlet with trainers and healing checkpoints.
➡️Frontier Mode/Sandbox Menu – Fully customizable battle settings, randomizers, and saved teams.
➡️Entry Hub – Central location to start with a random team, earn Frontier Coins, and manage party, moves, and items.
➡️Gym Leader Gauntlet Challenge – Battle all gym leaders in a row to earn a spot in the Hall of Fame.
➡️Frontier Coins System – Earn coins even if you lose, based on performance.
➡️Tier System Overhaul – Tiers are unlocked per facility across all modes; losing doesn’t reset tier.
➡️Flexible Team Options – Choose your own team, randomize, or customize from scratch for each challenge.
