PROGRESS: Completed 1.2 (29/06/26). Playable through the Elite Four with an additional post-game event, featuring balanced progression and badge-based level caps.
A balanced FireRed overhaul featuring an entirely new 175-Pokémon regional Pokédex, modern quality-of-life enhancements, graphical upgrades, and a built-in Nuzlocke mode.
🛑Features:
➡️New HM System: HMs no longer need to be taught—any Pokémon capable of learning an HM can use it in the field once the HM has been obtained and the required Badge has been earned.
➡️Shuckle Sprite Change: Shuckle's sprite changes when holding the BlackGlasses item.
➡️New Trainer Card Star Requirement: Defeat the Pokémon League with a Shuckle holding BlackGlasses in your party.
➡️Running Shoes: Start out with running shoes with indoor running and auto-run via Button L.
➡️Repel System: Black and white repel system.
➡️Bag Sorting: Press Button Start in bag for sorting options.
➡️Register Multiple Items: Register multiple items from the bag.
➡️Last Pokéball Use: Use last used Pokéball via Button L after a failed capture in wild Pokemon battles.
➡️Pokédex Summary Screen: Shows Base stats, Ability, and Evolution requirement.
➡️Nature Stat Colors: Boosted stats are highlighted in green, and reduced stats are highlighted in red.
➡️No External Pokémon References: No references to Pokémon not in the hack.
➡️Overworlds: Fairly accurate Overworlds.
➡️UI Enhancements: A consistent new UI.
➡️Recolored Shinies: Almost all shinies have been recolored (except the iconic ones e.g Gyarados, Metagross).
➡️Day and Night System: Proper Day and Night system with light up windows.
➡️Pokémon Sprites: Handpicked sprites for almost all Pokémon.
➡️Overworld Palettes: New Overworld Palettes.
➡️Battle Platforms: More unique battle platforms (e.g. for Seafoam islands, Pokemon Mansion, Bridges).
➡️Text Formatting: New text formatting with highlighting and decapitalization.
➡️NPC Sprites: More unique NPC Sprites.
➡️Completion Diploma: A brand new Pokédex completion Diploma.
➡️Mugshot Intros: Mugshot Intro for Important trainers.
➡️Level Caps: Badge based level caps.
➡️Item Restraints: Bag is disabled in trainer battles (AI also doesn't use items).
➡️No Effort-Values: Effort-Values have been removed.
➡️Physical/Special Split: Implemented Physical/Special Split.
➡️Pokémon Rebalancing: All Pokémon have been rebalanced via Learnsets, Base stats, and Ability to improve viability across the board and signify identity.
➡️Curated Learnsets: Learnsets are curated in such a way that the moves must fit the Pokémon identity, meaning less coverage even with TM usage.
➡️Move Changes: A few move changes (e.g. Moves like Fissure and Sheer Cold now work like elemental Hyper Beams).
➡️Type Changes: Many Type changes with sprite edits to match the new typing.
➡️Single Ability: All Pokémon now only have a single Ability.
➡️Disabled Evolution Canceling: Evolution canceling has been disabled since it served no purpose.
➡️Encounter System: A new encounter system makes encountering all Pokemon in an area much less frustrating.
➡️Shiny Probability: Shiny Pokémon encounter probability is much higher (~1% in Normal mode, ~0.1% in Nuzlocke mode).
➡️Old Rod Fisherman: Moved to a house in Pewter City.
➡️Good Rod: Vermilion fisherman NPC now gives Good Rod instead of an Old Rod.
➡️Super Rod: Obtained from the fisherman NPC in Fuchsia City.
➡️Move Reminder: Moved to Lavender Town (The Name Rater's house).
➡️Name Rater: Moved upstairs at Route 12 bridge gate.
➡️Surf Usage: Surf usage outside of battle now requires Saffron Gym's Badge.
➡️Cerulean Cave Access: Rocket NPC blocking Cerulean Cave moves away after obtaining the Viridian Gym's Badge.
➡️Silph Co. Access: Rocket NPC blocking access to Silph Co. moves after obtaining the Fuchsia Gym's Badge.
➡️Zapdos Ground Immunity: Zapdos retains Ground immunity through a custom species-specific mechanic.
➡️Exp. Share: Gen 6 Exp. Share obtainable at Viridian Forest's entrance gate via Prof. Oak's aide.
➡️Boosted Exp: All Pokémon now give 3x their Base Exp.
➡️Rare Candies: Purchasable in Celadon City Department Store.
➡️Cleanse Tag: Works like a held Repel (Obtainable at Pokémon Tower).
➡️GB Player: Start out with GB Player allowing you to switch background music to its 8-bit version.
➡️Item Availability: A lot more item availability courtesy of CFRU.
➡️Reusable TMs: TMs are reusable.
➡️Forgettable HMs: HMs are forgettable.
➡️Three HMs: Only three HMs available and required for progression (Cut, Fly, Surf).
➡️Persistent Cut Trees: Trees cut down now remain cut.
➡️Evolution Changes: All Pokémon evolve via level up except Eevee (which evolves using stones). Only Female Salandits can evolve.
➡️Built-In Nuzlocke Mode: Features an optional, built-in Nuzlocke mode with custom rules (first encounter only, dupes clause, shinies always catchable, fainted cannot revive, and whiteouts disable the mode) activated via the game console in your room before getting the Pokédex.
➡️Trainer Card Star Requirements: Defeat the Pokémon League, complete the Pokédex, and defeat the Pokémon League with a Shuckle holding Black Glasses in your party.
